Pure Limousin Steer tops Manning Valley Beef Week
A purebred Limousin steer bred and paraded by Wingham High School was crowned Grand Champion Carcase in the 2003 Manning Valley Beef Week.
The steer had earlier been placed first in the Jap Ox Class on the hoof.
The steer was sired by "Toledo" a son of Roma Park Quantum bred by Robert and Marilyn Bulley.
Wingham High School had considerable success in other classes with steers sired by the same bull.
Trevor and Pat Phillips of the Benhaven Limousin stud at Taree also won first in a class and reserve with two 3/4 Limousin calves.
